George Gendy, M.D.
George Gendy, MD was born and raised in Southern California and moved to San Diego to practice orthopedic surgery. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He received an academic merit scholarship to attend medical school at the University of Wisconsin, Madison School of Medicine and subsequently completed his Orthopedic Surgery Residency through Loma Linda University.
Dr. Gendy has a true passion for disorders of the foot and ankle. He went on to complete a Foot and Ankle Orthopedic Fellowship with the world renowned Prof. Roger Mann, MD in Oakland, CA. He then concluded his training with an international orthopedic traveling fellowship in Switzerland and Germany.
Dr. Gendy has had extensive training in treating many athletes on the, professional, collegiate, and high school level. He is one of a few Orthopedic Surgeons to offer total ankle replacement as a viable alternative to ankle fusions. He enjoys treating all disorders of the foot and ankle including bunions, hammer toes, painful flatfeet, Achilles tendon rupture, Morton’s neuroma, ankle and foot fractures and many more with both non operative and operative approaches. He understands that not all problems are solved with surgery; in fact many conditions can be treated with appropriate shoe modifications or proper stretching.
Dr. Gendy understands that disorders of the foot and ankle may seem small to others but can create a great amount of disability and discomfort to you. He understands how important it is for you to get around and stay active and would like to get you on the road to recovery.
